While in New York last December, in the midst of the writer’s strike, I went to see a comedy show headlined by John Oliver, arguably most notorious for his role on The Daily Show. I only occasionally watch The Daily Show, so going into the show I didn’t recognize the name, but having seen him live, sitting less than 10 feet from the stage, I can say that he really is this funny in person.
